The experience in visiting the dentist has changed. There are many changes that have been put in place to ensure your utmost safety.
Firstly a triage will be done by a member of staff. If it is deemed suitable to attend for a face to face consultation we will then make you an appointment. If you are unwell for any reason it is better for you not to come into the clinic. If you suspect you have symptoms of Covid-19 please stay at home and follow NHS guidance.
We try to manage as much pre-visit triaging , covid screening and administration roles with you over the phone and by email. This is to streamline your actual onsite dental visit. Please complete any online covid screening or medical forms if you have been asked to do so.
It is preferable for you to wear a face covering in line with Public Health England when travelling to and from the clinic.
Only those with an appointment will be allowed to enter the clinic.
The front door will be locked. Please ring us when you get to the clinic (or whilst waiting in the car) as we will only allow you in when we are ready to see you. So please do not arrive more that 5 minutes early.
Please do not bring anyone with you into the building unless this person is accompanying a vulnerable adult, a disabled person or children.
Our reception is designed to be kept as clear as possible. Social distancing indicators have been placed on the floor to assist you with social distancing.
Upon arrival in the reception area, you will be requested to disinfect your hands with hand sanitiser and your temperature will be recorded from your forehead using an infra-red thermometer. Should your temperature be 38 degrees or above we most likely would rebook your appointment if we suspect covid 19.
Our reception team will be there to help you and will now be wearing a mask if they are not behind the perspex screen we have installed to protect their working environment.
Please bring your own pen in case you need to sign any documents.
If you have to sneeze, or cough, please do so in a tissue, bin it and finally wash your hands.
We would like to request you to have used the toilet facilities prior to your visit to the surgery as these will be out of use during your visit.
The through door will be opened for you and you will be asked to go to surgery.
You will be requested to place your personal belongings /coat in a box outside the surgery room in order to minimise contamination of non essential items.
Our team will be wearing various levels of PPE but we are all likely to be wearing a mask as we greet you. Unfortunately we would not be able to shake your hand.
The consultation and appropriate treatment(s) will be carried out with your full consent , aiming to limit the amount of time spent in the dental chair.
Certain treatments like fillings, root canal treatments, crowns and bridges, cosmetic bonding or veneers will not be carried out yet, but will be brought into consideration later on.
One completed we will direct you to one of our reception team members in order to finalise the check-out process, take payment and make further appointments as necessary.
Due to the Corona virus the cost of PPE has increased exponentially. We have decided at this time of the epidemic instead of increasing all our treatment fees to accommodate this additional cost, we will only be charging the cost of the disposable PPE per visit. This is currently £5 per visit for non aerosol procedures, and £40 for aerosol procedures.
Thank you very much for your cooperation during these difficult times. Together we will succeed!
